In addition to submitting a poster abstract, poster presenters may also choose to participate in PosterTalks, a five-minute/three-slide presentation of their poster content given during the technical presentation sessions at annual meeting. Each participant in PosterTalks will be assigned a meeting room and time, along with other PosterTalk presenters. Also included in the room will be each presenter’s poster. Following the presentations, attendees of the session will have time to meet with the individual poster authors, in the same room, to discuss the content of the poster.

PosterTalks are in addition to the poster set-up, viewing, and author time that takes place in the exhibit hall. This new concept allows more opportunity for poster authors to share their scientific research and content with meeting attendees.

Select “YES” on the submission form if you are interested in participating in PosterTalks.

Guidelines for Oral, Poster Presentations and PosterTalks

Information and Guidelines for PosterTalks

Poster presenters are encouraged to take part in PosterTalks, the new oral/poster presentation format introduced at the 2010 AACC International Annual Meeting.

In addition to submitting a poster abstract, poster presenters may also chose to participate in PosterTalks, a five-minute/three slide presentation of their poster content, given during the technical presentation sessions at annual meeting. This new concept allows more opportunity for poster authors to share their scientific research and content with meeting attendees.

This process includes:

Pre-Meeting Submission:

  • Authors submit an abstract for their contributed presentation as a poster
  • Authors interested in participating in PosterTalks should select this option on the abstract form
  • Authors will be notified in June of their selection for PosterTalks

Pre-Meeting Preparation:

  • Each presentation is limited to a five-minute time limit and a three-slide presentation on the content of the scientific data
  • Authors will be assigned and notified of the specific time within their session for their presentation

At the Meeting:

  • During the two-hour session, the first hour will be devoted to approximately 12 poster presentations
  • Following all presentations, the second hour will take place in the same room as the presentations, where authors will be available by their posters for individual discussion with session attendees
  • PosterTalk abstracts will be highlighted in the meeting program book (higher visibility)
  • PosterTalks are in addition to the poster set-up, viewing, and author time that takes place in the exhibit hall.
