Vitamins, Minerals and Lipids Technical Committee is requesting samples (about 200g) of iron fortified cereals and pure forms of iron fortificants (100g) that are used in enrichment programs.  We are evaluating AACCI Method 40-40.01 to determine if the method is effective in evaluating newer forms of iron (NaFeEDTA, ferrous sulphate, ferrous fumarate, electrolytic iron, etc.  Method 40-40.01 is a qualitative test.  This project utilizes a graduate student as part of AACCI’s Graduate Research Leadership Program.  Please communicate and mail samples to Padu Krishnan, Ph.D., Crop Quality Lab, South Dakota State University, Room 112 Berg Ag Hall, Rotunda Lane, SDSU, Brookings, SD 57007.
