- Methodology of the GI is well established and,
despite inherent biological variability in the measurement, good agreement
can be achieved between different laboratories.
- A diet with a low glycemic load may not have the
same physiological effects as a low-GI diet.
- Research conducted over the last 25 years suggests
that the GI has potential therapeutic utility.
- To allow the GI concept to become a practical
reality, the food industry will be instrumental in developing a wider
range of readily available, acceptable, low-GI foods.
