Joint AACC/TIA Annual Meeting Call for Papers 

St. Paul, Minn. (November 25, 2003) – Applications for oral and poster presentations are now being accepted for the joint meeting of the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC) and the Tortilla Industry Association (TIA), September 19-22, 2004, San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California.

Presenters will have the opportunity to share their latest findings on topics such as health and nutrition, processing, structure and function of food components, biotechnology, and ingredient quality assurance. There will also a focus on tortillas and the tortilla industry, the fastest-growing segment of the baking industry. 

Subject matter for both oral presentations and posters should address the latest scientific research in grain science, from analytical methodology and evaluating grains to the production of grain-based foods. Contributions relating to advances in the basic knowledge about various grains and their role in today’s world are also welcome. Presentations should relate to the development and trends important to the grain-based food industry.

The American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC) is an international organization of nearly 3,500 grain scientists and other professionals who study the chemistry of cereal grains and their products or work in related fields. The Tortilla Industry Association (TIA) is a not-for-profit organization whose more than 150 member companies include tortilla manufacturers, industry suppliers and distributors around the world, and companies with interests in the rapidly growing industry.
