The art of writing scientific papers
L. COPELAND (1) (1) University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia.

The results of good research should be communicated clearly in papers that are easy to read and comprehend. However, many scientists find it difficult to write papers, despite considerable emphasis having been placed on English writing skills during their training. This presentation will describe the elements of good scientific writing. It will cover the structure of scientific papers, the presentation of clear and informative text, figures and tables, and the importance of editing and revising drafts. Improving the readability of text and overcoming barriers to writing will be discussed.
