Dr. Thomas B. Whitaker

Dr. Thomas B. Whitaker - Dr. Whitaker is an Agricultural Engineer with the Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Dr. Whitaker conducts research to solve problems associated with accurately detecting mycotoxins in agricultural commodities. He studies the variability and distributional characteristics among sample test results and has developed methods to evaluate the performance of mycotoxin sampling plans. His evaluation methods have been used domestically by USDA and FDA and internationally by FAO/WHO to design aflatoxin sampling plans. Dr. Whitaker is a Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and the American Peanut Research and Education Society.
