Kim joined Monsanto in 1993,
after completing a degree at the University of
Missouri in Biology, research at the German Cancer
Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany, and graduate
course work in biology and education. Since that
time, she has contributed to the first ag biotech
products from the field testing evaluations,
development product characterization methods,
regulatory submissions and stewardship of Monsanto's
ag biotech products. She currently specializes in
development of strategy for DNA and protein based
detection methods, communication with the grain and
feed industry regarding testing for ag biotech
products and is responsible for detection methods to
meet global regulatory requirements. She is a member
of several method validation and testing
standardization committees including, the Committee
for European Norms, American Association of Cereal
Chemists, American Association of Testing Materials,
Association of Analytical Chemists, which are
addressing method validation, standardization and
harmonization. She is chair of the American Corp
Protection Association working group on testing,
treasurer of the Analytical Environmental Industrial
Consortium, and industry representative to the BIAC
OECD committee on biotechnology.
