The business meeting was conducted by Brinda Govindarajan, Chair of the AACCSD 1998-1999. After opening statements, Dr. Fred Hegele, President of AACC, was introduced. He presented Ms. Govindarajan with a certificate on behalf of the Board, thanking her for her outstanding work for the division during the past year. Dr. Julie Jones, President-elect of AACC was also introduced. She encouraged the students to take the initiative to start networking and building good friendships in the process, especially at these annual meetings. Dr. Bill Atwell, Chair of the AACC Foundation was also present and he spoke on the scholarship distribution process.

Certificates were given out to the 9 university representatives for the 1998-1999, for their help in the student division. Certificates of appreciation were also given to the 1998-1999 committee: Pamela Hunt (Vice Chair); Mui Lin Cheong (Secretary); and Pamela Lawson (Treasurer).

We would also like to encourage fellow students to step forward to assist the Student Division and create a strong network between AACC and their Universities.
