Dietary fiber is a collective term for several natural components that have been associated with certain health effects including protection against certain cancers, reduced insulin requirements for diabetics, and blood cholesterol reduction, hence the importance of finding good assay methods for dietary fiber in foodstuffs and their raw materials.
