AACC International Bill Doty Memorial Fund
The Bill Doty Memorial Fund supports a scholarship or fellowship of $1,000 or more, supported by annual golf tournament fees since 1989.
James W. (Bill) Doty was president of Doty Laboratories and a vice
president of Caleb Brett U.S.A., Inc.
Bill Doty joined the AACC International in 1963, just prior to
graduating magna cum laude from Kansas State University with a B.S.
degree in feed technology. His father, Jim Doty, founded Doty
Laboratories in 1943 and Bill joined the firm upon graduation, first
serving as manager of the branch laboratory in Minneapolis. He married
Patsy Huddleston in Minneapolis in 1966 and joined the parent firm in
Kansas City in 1967 and vice-president. He was named president of Doty
Laboratories in 1969 when his father became chairman of the board.
An active AACC International member, Bill served a term on the Board
of Directors, held all elected offices in the Kansas City Section, was a
member of the Pioneer Section and the Milling and Baking Division,
served on several technical committees, and was local arrangements
chairman of the 1975 Annual Meeting in Kansas City and was co-chairman
again in 1984. For these and many more contributions, he was given AACC
International's highest service award, the William F. Geddes Memorial
Award, at the 1987 Annual Meeting in Nashville.
