AACC International Vision Statement: 

Advancing Grain Science Worldwide

GOAL I: Provide the highest quality of science and information on cereal grains and their products.

A. Determine information needed by world-wide members and customers.

  1. Identify emerging issues on both a local and global scale.
  2. Increase dialogue with world-wide members and customers.
  3. Develop a mechanism for direct member/customer input.
  4. Continually gather demographics on members/customers.

B. Identify and gather information.

  1. Assess alternative types/sources of information.
  2. Improve current information products so they meet the needs of all members and customers around the world.
  3. Utilize partnerships/alliances fully for a world-wide impact.

C. Disseminate information and knowledge to world-wide members and customers.

  1. Improve current methods of dissemination.
  2. Develop new meetings based on subject/interest areas.
  3. Explore new mechanisms for exchanging information with our global audience including new delivery options, new formats and multiple packaging options.
  4. Improve ability to customize products for all segments of our world-wide membership and customer-base.

GOAL 2: Provide professional development.

A. Develop new formats and global delivery methods for life-long learning opportunities.

  1. Develop annual meetings tracks for target audiences, i.e. regulatory, international, marketing, as well as subject area groups such as functional foods.
  2. Develop small meetings/workshops around emerging issues and special interest topics, i.e. analytical methodology, nutrition, folate enrichment, etc.

B. Develop new and young members world-wide.

  1. Determine the needs of new and young members.
  2. Develop a mentoring program for new/young members.
  3. Support the Foundation.

C. Increase the networking opportunities available world-wide.

  1. Expand the annual meeting format to encourage more interaction among attendees.

D. Increase opportunities for member involvement.

  1. Develop a system to identify candidates for volunteer opportunities such as the Board, committees, etc.
  2. Utilize small ad hoc committees on an as-needed basis.
  3. Examine the recognition and awards program.

GOAL 3: Ensure a vital organization.

A. Maintain a strong membership base.

  1. Attract and retain individuals involved in the research, design, and/or production of products containing grains world-wide.
  2. Offer the highest quality member services.
  3. Position AACC International as a recognized global authority.

B. Maintain a strong organizational structure.

  1. Ensure that the organizational structure is able to expedite the work of the association.
  2. Develop a large pool of volunteers from around the world.

C. Maintain a strong financial organization.

  1. Generate a positive revenue stream in each annual budget and create a reserve of $2 million.
  2. Constantly assess the association's products and services to ensure that they meet member and customer needs.
