More than 100 scientists from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Romania, the United Kingdom, and the United States are now participating in the Defining Dietary Fiber On-line Discussion Group.

August 3, 1999

· Select members of the AACC Committee to Define Dietary Fiber have provided their personal responses to a number of the public comments received via the Defining Dietary Fiber On-line Discussion Group.

July 23, 1999

· The Bureau of Nutritional Sciences, Health Canada, has submitted their comments on the consensus draft definition of dietary fiber that was reached at the June 2-3, 1999 AACC/ILSI NA workshop.

June 24, 1999

· On June 2 and 3, 1999, AACC and the ILSI North America Technical Committee on Carbohydrates conducted a workshop to explore the issues related to establishing a concise definition of dietary fiber, and reached consensus on a draft definition.

May 17, 1999

Nearly 70 scientists from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, New Zealand, Peru, and the United States are now participating in the Defining Dietary Fiber on-line discussion group. Participants represent a cross section of academic, regulatory, not-for-profit, and industry personnel.
